Aaron Gandecha is the Principal Physiotherapist at our Cairns Clinic

Aaron was born and raised in Luton, England. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Hertfordshire, graduating with a First Class Honours Degree in BSc Physiotherapy in 2016.

Aaron originally spent 6 months working in neurological rehabilitation before starting in private practice physiotherapy. He has remained in the field since this time.

Aaron immigrated to Australia in 2017.

His particular clinical interests are in:

  • Tendon injuries

  • ACL rupture rehabilitation (both conservative and surgical)

  • The shoulder complex

  • Chronic ankle instability

  • Exercise prescription, science and physiology

  • Injury prevention in sports

As our clinic partner and principal physiotherapist on the ground in Cairns, Aaron has been hard at work establishing local sporting relationships.

He has a great passion for raising injury prevention awareness and health literacy within the local athletic population.

Aaron recently completed educational sessions on Tibial Stress Syndrome in combative athletes and Ankle Injury Prevention and Management in Football (Soccer) for local sporting associations.

He has an upcoming talk on ACL rupture management for a local Football Academy.

Aaron also heads up an Injury Triage Clinic, currently hosted at our Cairns clinic once monthly. This enables athletes who are members of our sporting partners, to receive free assessment and advice on any injuries that they may be carrying

Outside of physiotherapy, Aaron has a passion for natural bodybuilding and previously powerlifting, sprinting and football.

He has powerlifting PB’s of 210kg Deadlift, 150kg Squat and 120kg Bench and a 400m sprint PB of 53 flat.

Aaron has invested in a commercial grade gym for home use and regularly uses this to experiment with different types of exercises for his patients.

He rides motorbikes, is a tech and video game nerd and has a crazy dog named Nahla that takes up the rest of his time.

At the weekends you will normally find him at a local beach or swimming hole
